Designing Accelerated Life Tests

Designing Accelerated Life Tests

Adam / October 04, 2017

I just returned from the IEEE ASQ Accelerated Stress Test and Reliability Conference, held this year in Austin, Texas.  It’s always been a great conference. There is such a good comradery and sharing of knowledge when a large group comes together on such a specific topic. I meet a lot of great people from many different industries, all with great experience to share.   We shared as much over dinner as we did in presentations, just with more colorful language. I presented a paper on considerations when designing an accelerated stress test as well as common pitfalls I have witnessed. …

Webinar ‘Reliability in the Product Development Process”

Webinar ‘Reliability in the Product Development Process”

“Reliability in the ProductDevelopmentn Process” July 26th

Special thanks to The Accendo Reliability community for hosting the webinar.

Overview:

One of the more significant challenges for reliability engineering in product development is complete execution of the planned reliability process in product development. The reliability tools and techniques outlined in the product plan are often skipped or delayed, minimizing the opportunity for outputs to impact the program and product fully.

This contrast of planning and execution does not occur equally with product plan goals such as time to market, developed technical features, and product cost point.  Each of those are closely measured in development and…

Annual Apex Ridge Seminar

Annual Apex Ridge Seminar

Adam / March 04, 2017

We just held the Annual Apex Ridge/NEHALT seminar , sponsored by Qualmark.  We had a full house again which was great.  This year’s seminar was in three sections.  The first section discussed

  • The first section discussed methodology for balancing reliability with other product goals during a development program.  The second session was on Reliability testing tools and how to use their outputs to steer program decisions and design improvement.  The third session was on specialized HALT testing techniques.  We then followed that with a HALT demonstration and tour of the lab facilities.
  • The second session was on Reliability testing tools and… Read More
Integrating HALT into the Product Development Process

Integrating HALT into the Product Development Process

Adam / September 22, 2015

I recently did a webinar for Qualmark’s “Ask The Experts Series” to discuss how to integrate HALT into the product development process.    I find it to be a very interesting topic. So much benefit can come from correctly integrating HALT with other reliability tools. I welcome any questions or comments on the topic via email  abahret@apexridge.com

Connecting HALT to Program Goals and Estimating ROI

Connecting HALT to Program Goals and Estimating ROI

Adam / May 13, 2015

This video is a webinar done jointly with Qualmark. The material covers how to connect HALT testing to program goals and finding the ROI of doing HALT in the product development process. It is intended to assist engineers and technical managers with communicating the qualitative and quantitative benefits of HALT to the business unit.
