An introduction to Apex Ridge Reliability Services

Adam / January 10, 2015

I enjoy doing Lunch and Learns at local Boston companies a few times a year.  It’s always fun to introduce people to the concepts in reliability and some of the tools that can implement them in the product development process.  If you are in the Boston area I would be happy to put you on the roster!

Organizational Evaluation

Adam / January 01, 2013

Reliability Engineering is not a stand-alone discipline. The philosophy and methods need to be apart of a culture and it’s development practices. Apex Ridge will evaluate a customer’s current practices and goals, and create a strategy for shaping an organization that has reliability infused into it’s development process.

Reliability Tools

Adam / January 01, 2013

The reliability toolbox is capable of assisting with all stages of product development from concept “the napkin sketch” through post release.

Tools assist with…

  • Defining sub assembly reliability goals: Tool-“Allocation Models”
  • Identifying highest risk areas of the design,: Tool-“FMEA’s”,
  • Maximizing reliability by product architecture:  Tool-“Block Models”
  • Making data into information about performance: Tool-“Weibull statistical analysis”

I find customers are often shocked when they discover all that reliability tools available and what they can do for product development.

System Reliability

System Reliability

Adam / January 01, 2013

The best tool for measuring and systematically improving a complete product’s reliability is a Reliability Growth (RG) program. An RG program establishes a method for running the product at it’s highest customer like level and comparing performance to established goals. By comparing performance as the product matures in-house to progressive goals, the team can track progress and know if program corrections should be made far in advance of any missed goals. This process is accompanied by a root cause analysis method that ensures issues will be identified and corrected at a rapid pace.
